Blake Brantley - Power of Music

Music has been a popular form of socialization and bonding for tens of thousands of years and it is to no one's surprise that it is can hold power over others. Music has the ability to change people's emotions in seconds, even if those emotions were extremely strong ones. Music also can amplify current emotions and cause situations to become more drastic. I have never met a person who dislikes music and I know many who love music and constantly listen to it. With this in mind, why don't people use music to their advantage over others? The answer is that they do, whether it be showing popular songs they like, hoping to connect to others that way (ex. an applicant trying to connect with an employer to give them an advantage) or playing music to express love or hatred. A popular form of music, for the younger audience, about 5 years ago was diss tracks. The entire purpose of these songs was to slander another person in order to make oneself look better or make the competition look worse. Although these diss tracks were not as malicious as I make them seem, they still used music to bring together a crowd to go after another content creator. By no means do I think music is a bad thing, in fact I think it might be the greatest form of bonding humanity has. I just wanted to express the little bits of bad in the endless good that music provides us.
