Cold Fever, and the people who helped pave the way #1

I thought the movie cold fever was very interesting. There was a lot to unpack when we were watching this movie. Many different aspects that played into the hero's journey. It made the whole thing very confusing. The different aspects of real life and magic really played a role here, and the idea that you are led on this journey by a guide. That there is someone who is always watching out for you and helping was very clear in this story. There are multiple times in this movie that the main character's car breaks down or is in some kind of disrepair. However, there is always some way that it is brought back to life and used to help him continue on his journey. We also see Siggi who is the old man at the lodge who helps secure horses for their journey after he has lost his car, and is on terrain that cannot be traveled by car anyway. He helps him through harsh landscapes and unknown land. There are many different welcoming environments that Hirata see when he is on this journey, it is important to realize that at first there were places that were annoying to Hirata, or that he found to take up his time and set him off track, but it was those places and those people who finally got him where he needed to be. Without them he never would have been able to make it to the river to honor his parents. He had to learn to reach out to others and accept their help and what they could do for him.
