Virginia Press - Journal Entry 11 - Journey to Lion's Bridge

 The Journey to Lion's Bridge was quite treacherous for many of my peers. Many of them travelled on long roads and got quite lost. Some never made it. My trip was quite easy, but for others the passage was extremely difficult. 

For example, my friend Briar underwent an entire Hero's Journey. Your email was a call to adventure. Though you attempted to help her, by offering her a ride, Briar entered the Belly of The Whale by walking the path. 

The road was full of trials. The physical fatigue, as well as the mental challenge of navigation were obstacles for Briar to overcome. t a critical junction, Briar was Tempted to turn back, but when I (the Goddess), told her how close she was to her goal, she was able to choose to conquer her path and make it to class. 

On her way back, I took her on a magical flight in my Kia Soul.

  I just had a few thoughts on what "wilderness of the soul" meant. In class we discussed that it meant uncharted territory within yourself and I thought of Freud's Iceberg analogy where most of the hidden unconscious is the part of the iceberg that remains underwater.
